The Texas Process Servers Association has established a Texas Certified Process Server professional designation for its Members in Good Standing". The purpose of the Certified Process Server Program is to enhance our Continuing Education agenda and to give recognition to "TPSA Members" who have achieved the highest standards of knowledge, training, and maintenance of ethical standards and professional levels of competence. In simpler terms, this means the step to become “Certified” exemplifies that the individual is dedicated to keeping the professionalism of this industry at the highest standard. The TPSA Texas Certified Process Server (TCPS) Program will aid our Members in achieving this goal. The Test will be given at all Seminars and also as indicated in the Agenda during the Annual Convention each year.

Note:  You do not have to be a Member of TPSA to acquire Training for Certification with the Supreme Court of Texas. Training is open to anyone to attend who is at least 18 years of age.

TPSA has made great strides in professionalizing our industry and helping the private process server. We need to be professionals in every sense of the word in order to survive.

The requirements to become designated as a TPSA- Texas Certified Process Server are:

  • Be a current Member in Good Standing with TPSA

  • Agree to abide by TPSA By-Laws and Code of Conduct

  • Have a minimum of two years verified experience as a process server

  • Attend a TPSA Seminar or other approved course at least once every two years

  • Take and Pass the required Test by 85%.

Each "Texas Certified Process Server" TCPS will receive a Certificate stating their certification within TPSA. Your names will appear with your title in your profile on our website. Qualified TPSA Members are “Certified” and may use the professional designation “TCPS” after their name on affidavit of services, business cards and other advertisements.

What is the Cost for this Program?
There are no fees related to the certification program charged to TPSA Members who are eligible for the TPSA Certification.  The TCPS designation is only available to TPSA Members in Good Standing !

When and Where will the Test be given?
The Test will be given at all Seminars and also as indicated in the Agenda during the Annual Convention each year.

If you wish to challenge the Test, and your a Member of TPSA, we suggest you knock the dust off your TPSA Manual and re-read it carefully! Best yet, attend the next Seminar and then challenge the Test. The Test is not easy, but passable, if you are familiar with the Texas Rules of Court, applicable statutes, Federal rules of service, court decisions, as well as criminal laws that all process servers should know, you can pass the Test.
